Week 1 Term 4
Welcome back to Term 4! My goodness this year is just whizzing past! A big welcome to the lovely Jessie who has been lucky enough to have been living in Switzerland for the past two years. It is great to have you in Team 22!
So this week is our camp week... yee-haa! We know that you are excited and also may have a few butterflies in your tummy. This is perfectly normal. We promise you that you will have the most amazing time! Tomorrow a note will be going home informing you of what parent you will be travelling to and from camp with. Parents, any questions please do not hesitate to pop in and see us.

The Terrible
Thing that happened to Barnaby Brocket
By John Boyne
Barnaby Brocket is
an 8 year old boy and he is special because he floats. Barnaby’s brain thinks
that floating is falling and thinks that falling is floating. Barnaby’s parents
say that Barnaby is different. They also say that Barnaby’s floating is not
normal.
Barnaby meets all
kinds of people. One of the people that he met was Liam McGonagall. Liam
McGonagall is special because he has hooks instead of hands. The people in Barnaby
Brocket’s family are his sister Melanie Brocket, his brother Henry Brocket, his
mum Eleanor Brocket and his dad Alistair Brocket. Barnaby also has a dog his
name is Captain W.E Johns. Captain W.E Johns follows Barnaby around because
Barnaby is Captain W.E Johns master. At the end of the story Barnaby is in a
hospital Barnaby has a strap around him but he unties it. He pressed a button
to open the roof and he floats away with Captain W.E. Johns gripped to his
legs.
I think this story
was a fantastic story. I think the moral of this story is that it’s ok to be
different.

The Terrible
Thing that happened to Barnaby Brocket.
By John Boyne.
This is the story
of Barnaby Brocket, sit back, relax and enjoy.
Barnaby Brocket is
a child, a floating child he is different. But who cares that he is different,
oh that’s right Eleanor and Alistair. They care heaps about it. Throughout the
story I felt as if Barnaby was thinking what is normal?
Some of the people in this story are Barnaby Brocket, Captain W.E
Johns, Alistair, Eleanor Brocket, Melanie, Henry Brocket, Liam M’gonagall and
many more.
In this story early on Eleanor, Barnaby and Captain W.E Johns go for a
walk. Barnaby brings his sandbag. They walk to Mrs. Macquarie’s chair and when
they arrive Mrs. Brocket cut a hole in Barnaby’s sandbag. Sand is coming out
bit by bit and then Barnaby floats away. Barnaby is floating and floating until
he bumps his head on something. Soon he finds himself in Brazil and he meets
lovely people. Afterwards he goes to many more places and he meets many more
people. After a long journey he arrives back home. He then finds himself in the
hospital waiting for an Operation. But then he floats out the window (with
Captain W.E Johns) just before his Operation. He soon finds himself a new life
with himself and Captain W.E Johns.
I did enjoy this story because everything happens so fast and Barnaby
meets new people and has lots of adventures.

Main

It is
good to be different because if we were all the same it would be really really
boring.

What
happens ?
Barnaby
floats and he floated into space and he meets some

went
was Brazil.
Did
you like it and why ?
I liked
the story because of all the action and lots of mysteries got solved very,
very, very quickly.

Week 10
Wow we can’t believe that this is the last week of Term 3, it really has flown by! Apologies for last week for the number of relievers in the class. Mrs Tippen’s son Sam was ill and Miss Bunting was struck down very suddenly with a nasty tummy bug. This week your child will be bringing home a gear list for camp. Please let us know if there is anything that you need. Also a reminder that there is a camp meeting for all our camp parents on Tuesday at 5:00pm in Room 21. Many thanks Trish and Ros
